Description

http://www.medpagetoday.com NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 9 -- Results of the JUPITER trial are likely to expand use of statins and highly-sensitive CRP measurement, but how much and how soon remain to be seen, according to participants in an exclusive MedPage Today roundtable discussion. Robert Bonow, M.D., of Northwestern University in Chicago and a former president of the American Heart Association, Gordon F. Tomaselli, M.D., of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and chairman of the association's program committee, and Anthony De Maria, M.D., of the University of California at San Diego and editor-in-chief of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, sat down with Peggy Peck, MedPage Today executive editor, to look at the clinical implications of the landmark trial. One thing all three agreed on: The results are likely to bring about changes in clinical guidelines.
